The Lifestyle in Denver

It’s Mostly sunny in Denver

Since Denver is located beneath the RMNP on high plains, the town has a climate with moderate temperatures, and low humidity. Moreover, the weather is warm most of the year. The sky is overcast for around 40 days each year.

The exposure to the sun for most of the year is a kind of health hazard. The reality is that the sunlight is a blessing for the lifestyle of the residents.

Denverites Stay Active

As far as physical activity goes, the residents of the city deserve a lot of praise. Almost all citizens of Denver are physically fit. Moreover, around 80% of the citizens perform tough workouts to stay fit.

They stay active because they have a lot of public options at their disposal, such as playgrounds, baseball diamonds, parks, recreational centers and tennis courts. Even the Americans don’t have these facilities, which is what makes Denver different in a good way.

Overall quality of life

As far as quality of life goes, the metropolitan area of Denver is ranked among the top 10 cities. The credit goes to many housing options, low rents, low mortgage rates, low unemployment, decent commute times and so many other facilities.

Denver is green

In the US, Denver is on the list of the greenest cities. This is due to the improved air quality, municipal initiatives and lots of investment in the green technology. As a matter of fact, green cities play a great role in the social well-being and economic development. The reason is that clean landscape and infrastructure attracts more active residents and business.

The Beer

In Denver, they arrange a great bear festival known as the Great American Beer Festival. Recently, marijuana has been legalized in the city, which means that the citizens can freely pick their poison from a list. However, beer is still on top of the list as far as the favorite drink of the Denver citizens is concerned.

According to experts, beer can provide your body with a lot of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins if consumed in moderation. But you may agree or disagree with them.

The Health Statistics

In the USA, the obesity rate is the lowest in Denver. Aside from this, diabetes and inactivity are also at the lowest rate. Apart from this, Denverites have healthy weights, which is due to the well-funded parks of the city.

In short, the lifestyle of the Denverities is praiseworthy. If you want to stay active and fit, we suggest that you read up on the lifestyle tips of the citizens of Denver. You will see a considerable improvement in your physical fitness with time.

Create Your Ideal Lifestyle

Lifestyle  reflects our beliefs, attitudes, customs, behaviors, and values. A  lifestyle  can fill us with joy, keep us healthy, and allow us to become more successful. It can also contribute to illness or hold us back from the things we are capable of accomplishing.

Fortunately, we can choose actions and habits that keep us happy, healthy, and successful. We have that choice daily.

Maltbie Babcock summarized this very elegantly when she wrote, “A day dawns, quite like other days; in it, a single hour comes, quite like other hours; but in that day and in that hour the chance of a lifetime faces us.”

That chance, however, presents a challenge. A familiar  lifestyle  is not easy to leave behind, even when negative habits or tolerations make it uncomfortable. Doug Firebaugh wisely said, “Something must die in order to grow – your old habits, your old self image, your old thinking, your old life… must be weeded out for the seeds of success to grow.”

People want to be free from the consequences of their vices, but not necessarily from their vices. Many attempt changes that are too large to be realistic. Others try to change too many things at once. Old behaviors creep back very quickly.

For example, if it would burden you to carry out a new action on a regular basis, it is probably not a realistic change. Smaller changes carried out regularly more often lead to lasting change. Begin with one new action that can become a regular  lifestyle  behavior. Then look for tangible results from that change.

If you are not already living your ideal  lifestyle , take time to think deeply about the following questions. Then write your answers in a journal. This exercise will help you create a clear picture of your ideal  lifestyle . It will also help you to design a plan to begin creating the  lifestyle  that you want.

What is my current  lifestyle ?

How have my beliefs created that  lifestyle ?

What is my current  lifestyle  costing me?

If my  lifestyle  were to become ideal, what differences would I notice immediately in the major areas of my life?

For example, what would you be doing differently on a daily basis? What habits would you adopt, and what habits would you discard? Consider the changes you would notice in these areas:

  • Relationships (Family and Career)
  • Home environment
  • Wellness and self-care
  • Energy level
  • Serenity and inner stillness
  • Finances
  • Rest and relaxation
  • Temperament
  • Happiness and contentment

How would I look and feel most of the time if I lived my ideal  lifestyle ?

What tolerations, habits of thought, and actions are limiting me from living my ideal  lifestyle ?

What would it require of me to remove those limitations?

What is the first thing in my current  lifestyle  that I would truly like to change or improve?

Am I willing to commit to the necessary changes in thought and action to live my ideal  lifestyle , and if so, when will I begin to make the first change?

How will I feel when I have adopted new habits of thought and action?

What is one positive change I could comfortably make today?

This exercise will open your mind to the possibilities and options available to you for positive change. When you have a clear picture of your goal and the changes needed, you can begin moving forward toward a  lifestyle  that will bring you more success in all the important areas of your life.

These questions might lead to additional questions you will need to answer. You will need to evaluate your progress on a regular basis, make changes in your initial plan, and adjust your actions accordingly. A professional life strategies coach can also help you to expand these questions to a deeper level, find necessary answers, and design a plan to achieve the  lifestyle  you want.

Envision your ideal  lifestyle . Determine necessary changes, and design a realistic plan to achieve your vision. Then make at least one small change in your thoughts and actions immediately. These suggestions will help you begin moving toward your ideal  lifestyle  today.

5 Benefits of an Alkaline Diet

Adopting an alkaline diet and drinking alkaline water is the single most important step you’ll ever take towards a healthy lifestyle.

By raising your body pH, you will:

  1. Banish viruses from your body – including the herpes simplex virus
  2. Detoxify your body.
  3. Boost your energy levels.
  4. Lose weight.
  5. Feel and look years younger.

How does it work?

Pathogens (viruses, harmful bacteria and parasites) can only survive and thrive in an acidic environment.

This means that with the correct body pH at a little over 7, the herpes virus cannot attack the cellular system and cause an outbreak anywhere on your body.

In his book, ‘Never an Outbreak’, William Fharel states: “An acidic body provides a biological terrain conducive for disease to proliferate… Maintaining proper alkaline levels is essential for overall good health as well as preventing all herpes outbreaks.”

Doctor Theodore Baroody states in his book ‘Alkalize or Die’: “The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the basic root cause… too much acid tissue waste in the body.”

The major causes of an acidic body are:

  • An acid generating diet.
  • Drinking acidic (low pH) water, cola and other beverages.
  • Stress.
  • Pollution.

How Dangerous is Acid?

If our blood pH level falls to just below 7, human cells stop functioning. If this happened, we would lapse into a coma and die from blood poisoning.

This means that the most important task our liver and kidneys are faced with, is processing acid waste and maintaining the correct level of alkalinity in our blood.

In order to keep us alive, the bodily cleansing organs will do whatever it takes to maintain a blood pH balance between 7.35 and 7.45…

And that includes sacrificing other organs and bone mass if necessary.

Once our alkaline reserves are depleted, the liver and kidneys raid our bones, teeth and other organs in order to pirate neutralizing calcium to detoxify the blood.

In addition to that, if our overtaxed vital organs cannot get rid of the acid waste quickly, they store it in the form of fat for “later processing” (which never happens, by the way).

These toxins are kept as far away from our vital organs as possible, so the fatty waste finds its way to our bellies, buttocks, chest and thighs.

And this is why diet and exercise seldom work in the long run…

There’s no doubt about it. Over acidity leads to poor health, facial wrinkles, premature aging and an early grave.

Fix it by going on an Alkaline Diet and drinking alkaline water.

How To Date An Asian Lesbian

I believe all lesbians, being that we’re all women, want and need the same thing. Lesbians all over the world experience the same prejudice, oppression and discrimination. We all go through the same phase of self-discovery, acceptance and challenges as we present ourselves in the society. It is never easy for any gay individual to live the lifestyle because there will always be someone opposing to it. Fortunately in the west, they have stronger laws that protect homosexuals from harassment and discrimination. Where as in Asia, well… let’s just say we are not as fortunate as our sisters and brothers from the west. Aside from our culture and tradition that favors men; we are also governed by religion.

The lesbian scene in Asia is pretty stereotyped. Most Asian lesbians practice the butch and femme labeling but then again, there are some who don’t. So before making your move on Lesley, make sure if she’s into the traditional role playing and if so, which one is she playing. As a precaution, please know that butch-to-butch relationships in Asia are pretty rare – if not taboo. Once your lesbian categories are settled, you may now make a move.

Talk to her. This is also a good opportunity to find out if she’s out of the closet. Most Asian families are still in the dark when it comes to homosexuality and will still try to control their precious daughter even if she’s already 25 years old. In Asia, it doesn’t matter how old you are. Parents will still try to control you to prevent you from bringing shame into the family and try to lead you into the “normal” life. But then again, there are some Asian families who have embraced homosexuality as part of the norms and encourage their daughters to love freely.

So you’re going on a date. What’s your first step? Take a bath and make that body of yours squeaky clean. Hygiene is very important. Trim and shave that muffin because we’ll never know where this date is going to lead you. We want you smelling nice and clean so spraying light scented cologne will be great. Wear neat clothes and brush your teeth.

Pick a place where you’re both comfortable. If she’s still in the closet, ask her where she prefers to stay. We don’t want her mother making a scene so it’s best that you stay somewhere safe.

The thing with us lesbians is we treat each other fairly well. But do not forget about chivalry especially if you’re dating an Asian femme lesbian. Hold the door open for her; carry her purse etc. – the whole “gentleman” practice. It would be nice to bring her flowers on your first date but if she’s not out and still lives with her parents, that might not be a good idea – maybe something small but special that she can bring home and keep instead.

Women love to talk so I’m pretty sure we won’t be having any problems in the conversation area. Topics will be the standard “getting to know you”. This is a good opportunity to drop some compliments since we tend to be insecure about our race around foreigners. But don’t over do it because we might think you’re just experimenting with us.

Most out of the closet Asian lesbians are a bit loose in terms of conservativeness. We wouldn’t mind a bit of public display of affection (PDA). We’d hold hands and kiss you in public but don’t expect a hot torrid kiss – a short and sweet French kiss is probably as far as you’re going to get UNLESS we’re in a lesbian crowd (i.e. exclusive lesbian parties). So if you score at the end of the date, congratulations! You’ve snagged yourself a Mulan girlfriend.

In a country where women are supposed to be a virgin till her honeymoon, sex is a big deal for us. Not a lot of Asian lesbians would have meaningless sex. Dildos and vibrators are a bit costly in Asia and due to our conservative culture; there is not a lot of places that sells them so do not be surprised if the idea of sex toys are a bit of a taboo to us Asian lesbians. We do everything the good old classic way so wash up before anything else.

Asians have close family ties so if your Asian girlfriend is out or would brave her family (and relatives) and introduce you to them, just relax. Behave your best and be polite to her family – even if they aren’t at their best. Don’t give them reasons to dislike you. Bring something for the family when you come over preferably something edible like a good cake or pastries that you can all share while they get to know you.

Asian women, regardless of their sexual orientation are faithful, caring and very loving. When you win an Asian woman’s heart, you also gain a lifetime partner. She will take care of you and love you through thick and thin. You will always be her priority and will consider your betterment before anything else. So if you end up with an Asian woman for a life partner, take care of her and make her happy. She’s worth every effort and emotional investment.

How to Lose 10 Pounds in a Weekend

If you want to lose 10 pounds and have just 1 weekend to do it, then this article is for you. But before you get excited, you need to realize that this isn’t such an easy thing to accomplish and that it is going to take a lot out of you, so be ready for a challenging Friday to Sunday.

In essence, you’ve got 3 days to lose 10 pounds. Physical exercise is probably not going to get this accomplished since you’re going to need a massive amount of workouts to burn so much weight off. A regular diet plan is also not going to work since you won’t be able to lose so much weight as fast with just any diet. Forget about pills because most of them are scams.

You’re left with only one option I know to lose 10 pounds in 3 days: a detox diet.

What a detox diet does is help you flush you body clean of undigested food and pollutants which has accumulated inside of you due to bad digestion, bad food, and environmental factors. You’re going to purify your body from within which can actually have additional benefit besides inducing a fast weight loss.

A detox diet is a very low calorie diet so you shouldn’t do it for more than a few days at a time. In fact, most of the calorie consumption comes in the forms of special juices and teas which help with the detoxification process. However, as you only plan on doing this for 3 days or so, it is very possible.

With a detox diet you may lose up to 10 pounds in a weekend. However, it needs to be said that the real challenge begins after you return to regular eating. Unless to watch what you eat and workout regularly, you can easily gain all this weight back again, so make sure to lead a healthy lifestyle from now on.

Help For Clogged & Congested Skin

Blocked pores, dull skin, uneven skin, blackheads and whiteheads…all signs of congested skin and often affecting not just teenagers, but adults too. Also knows as open comedomes, blackheads are literally tiny plugs in the opening of a follicle or pore on the skin. The pore plug is a combination of oils, sebum and dead skin cells. Open to the skin’s surface, the plug becomes darkened as it is exposed to oxygen. Whiteheads are closed at the skin’s surface, blocked by cellular debris but not exposed to oxygen so remain light in colour.

Blackheads, whiteheads and blocked pores are usually caused by a combination of factors. Excess skin oil, sebum and toxins that are expelled through the skin are often an underlying issue. In addition dead skin cells, pollution, occlusive make up and dirt also play a role by filling up pores already opened by sebum and oil production. Each factor will contribute to congestion in a different but significant way:

Skin Oil & Sebum: excess oil and sebum production by the skin will contribute to clogging pores and encourage the growth of skin bacteria. When combined with external factors such as dirt, blackheads easily form.

Toxic Congestion: blood and lymph supply the skin with nutrition. However, if the toxins that are produced in our bodies everyday are not eliminated properly, they are eliminated via the skin and can contribute to congestion as well as other issues such as acne and skin irritation.

Dead Skin Cells: Each 3 or 4 weeks the skin replenishes the skin cells. This natural process creates a layer of dead skin cells over the surface of the skin. If not removed, the dead skin cells create dull looking skin. The other thing that may happen is that the dead cells will plug the pores on your face and create congestion and blackheads. When combined with excessive sebum production, this can lead to the formation of white-heads and black heads.

Skin Care & Make Up: The key culprits in skin congestion are products that contain petrochemical based oils as they have an occulusive effect, stopping the skin from breathing and blocking pores. Talc, which is common in make up and finishing powder, also has this effect. Waxes and butters may also be an issue with skin prone to congestion. Make up is usually worn on a daily basis so it is essential to choose a make up that suits your skin type and doesn’t contribute to further congestion.

Pollution & Dirt: Building up on the surface of skin over the day, pollution is a factor in the formation of blackheads and blocked pores. The more polluted the area in which you live, the more skin pollution you are likely to experience. Effective skin cleansing is vital to clean the skin of daily dirt and grime…and a splash of water at the end of the day just doesn’t cut it. Dirt that is found on our face and other parts of the body can be a breeding ground for bacteria and combined with oily skin can make things even worse. Where does the dirt come from? Dirty hands are a key culprit and those already conscious of their skin tend to pick and rub their skin more than others, just making the problem worse.

Treatment of of Blackheads

So, how to get rid of blackheads and congested skin? Well squeezing them out is not the answer. This technique will just lead to further skin irritation and possibly damage and scarring to the surrounding tissue. Rather than removing blackheads by squeezing, the best way to get rid of them is by attacking the source of the problem.

1. A good cleansing routine: Cleansing the skin of daily dirt, grime and pollution is essential. A good cleansing routine is a very effective way to remove blackheads, as it will help wash away excess oil and dead skin particles. Use a gentle cleanser as harsh and overly-drying cleansers will only make the problem worse by causing an increase in sebum production. If your skin feels squeaky clean, dry and tight after washing, you are doing more harm than good and need to use a more gentle cleanser. Avoid products with Sodium laurel sulphate as this ingredient tends to disrupt the acid mantle again causing increased sebum production.

2. Regular gentle exfoliation: one way to minimise congestion and clogged pores is to ensure the top layer skin remains clear by regularly removing the dead skin cells. There are a number of very effective products you can use to remove dead skin cells.

Regular use of facial exfoliants or scrubs will help clear dead skin cells that block pores. Removing the top layer of dead cells will also allow your moisturiser or serum work more effectively as it comes into contact with live skin cells rather than dead ones.

There are a couple of things to look for in a good exfoliant. The most obvious, although it is surprising how many people ignore this, is that a body scrub is too harsh to be used as a facial scrub. Look for a very fine, soft exfoliant as your facial skin is soft and delicate. A harsh scrub may actually scour the surface of your skin much like a scrubbing brush and this can actually damage skin cells. If your skin is excessively red or inflamed after use they are far too strong. Gentle exfoliants will slough off cells without a harsh scrubbing effect and are suitable to be used 2-3 times a week.

3. Fruit Enzyme Peels: enzyme peels are another way of clearing dead skin cells. They work as a result of their ability to break the bonds between dead skin cells that form at the surface of the skin. Skin normally has a dead layer of cells at its surface (the corneocyte layer), and fruit enzymes can speed up the normal process of skin cell regeneration and sloughing. This results in increased flexibility of the skin as well as decreased formation of large dry skin flakes at the surface of the skin.

Pumpkin, pineapple and pawpaw provide natural, gentle enzyme proteases that loosen the glue between dead skin cells, slough away impurities, dead skin cells and unplug the pores while delivering nutrition to the skin. This leaves the skin cleansed and silky smooth and reduces the likelihood of blackheads. Fruit enzyme ‘peels’ only need to be used once or twice a week for good effect.

4. Light Moisturisers: moisturisers that use waxes, butters and petrochemical oils will be more likely to contribute to congestion in skin that is prone to blackheads. Please note that waxes and butters are perfectly suitable and definitely beneficial for those with dry or dehydrated skin but for those with congested skin, choose lotions rather than rich creams. If you have combination skin and suffer from congestion as well as dry skin, use oil based serums or hyaluronic acid to increase moisture content in the skin without contributing to further blockage.

5. Salicylic acid and glycolic acid in high concentrations are common recommendations for skin congestion and while they might be effective in the short term they can cause significant problems and can be counter-productive to softening and dissolving blackheads as they can dehydrate dry, normal and combination skin. In addition, those with a history of use of high concentration glycolic acid can suffer redness and irritation at a later date when exposed to even mildly acidic ingredients such as ascorbic acid. If you choose to use such products, firstly use them in consultation with a skin specialist, use low concentrations, use them short term only and watch for signs of skin dehydration.

6. Make Up: Mineral make up is an ideal alternative for those with congested skin. Rather than sinking into or filling pores, the particles of pigment sit on the surface of the skin allowing the skin to breathe properly. This helps minimise congestion and eventually, allows the pores to shrink.

7. Dietary & Lifestyle tips: Plenty of water will help flush toxins out of your system and regular and regular exercise will keep your lymphatic system flowing. Together both these factors will help reduce the level of toxins being eliminated via the skin.

Research conducted at RMIT University, Melbourne, has shown that a low glycemic index (GI), moderate protein diet improved symptoms of acne including the number of facial lesions. The diet consisted of 25% of energy from protein and 45% of energy from low GI carbohydrates such as fruit and vegetables, grains and pulses. While this research was conducted on patients with acne, there are strong correlations between high GI diets and skin congestion as well. Generally a high GI diet is associated with a greater degree of systemic body toxicity and inflammation and those prone to skin conditions are likely to eliminate toxins through the skin more readily.

A diet high in vegetables, fruit, good fats, lean protein, nuts & seeds is ideal for the skin as it contains lots of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that support skin health.

Following the steps above will not only help you minimise congestion but will also encourage clear, vibrant skin in general.

Working Through Deflections

Have you ever tried to have a serious conversation with someone that continually avoided the topic that you were trying to address? If so, fear not for you are far from alone. As a coach, I continually work with people on deep personal growth topics that are of high value to the coachee. Even in this situation there are many people that struggle to stay on topic. I always find this amazing considering the topic that they come to coaching for is themselves – what could be more important to them!

What is a Deflection?

A deflection is simply a way to avoid discussing what really matters in a conversation. Often people that deflect conversation would be considered by outsiders to be quite jovial. When you approach them with a problem, comment or question they may happily respond with a silly and light hearted joke related to what you are presenting. Or they may smile at you and respond – how about them 49ers.

Whatever their response, deflection is the art of skillfully and ‘seemingly’ harmlessly shifting a topic from one of greater importance to one of relative unimportance. The result: often questions remain unanswered, progress remains stunted, and a conversation never gets beneath the surface.

Whats going on when people deflect?

While I’ve no formal education on the psychology behind why people deflect, I can speak from my experience in working with numerous people that ‘avoid’ certain topics like the plague. Often deflection is a sign that what you are bringing up is important, its unresolved, and it is a struggle for the person that is dealing with it. People that deflect feel more comfortable internalizing these struggles then speaking openly about them. For friends, family, and life coaches this provides a pretty significant challenge since a major building block for relationships either in social circles or professional ones is open and truthful communication. How does one support a family member or coach a client that constantly deflects conversation?

Seeing Deflections for what they are

When you are in a conversation and you are in the midst of ‘real life’ discussions, its rather difficult to notice a deflection if you are allowing the conversation to flow. Its easy to get caught up in the conversation particularly when the deflector is coaxing the conversation with pleasurable adages. Because of this, it is very important to see the deflection for what it is rather than to be caught up in the conversation. This is an act of raising consciousness and it takes practice. Often we’ll miss out on the deflection and think later – why didn’t I say something! Remember – it takes practice, the person using the deflection has likely mastered the skill over years or even decades, so you shouldn’t expect to be able to avoid all deflections just after reading one article on the topic.

Again – step 1, be conscious to what’s happening so you can act.

Deflections v. A Wandering Mind

Before moving on, I want to make a distinction between a person that is deflecting conversation and a person that has a wandering mind. When you are coaching, time is limited and time costs money. If you are outside the coaching realm and are simply having a conversation with someone, you may not be constrained by the limits of time so wandering conversation may not be detrimental. For coaches however, its important to notice deflections that steer you off topic as well as wandering discussions as they create a lack of focus that impedes on the clients ability to make progress during the time you have together. Here are the major difference between the two:

  • Deflections serve the purpose of deliberately steering the conversation off topic
  • Deflections are used as a way to hide what is really important to someone
  • Deflections are a sign that you are touching upon something that the person is uncomfortable with (and it may be hiding what needs to be discovered)
  • Wanderers have lots of ideas and often lack focus
  • Wanderers are happy to get back to the topic of focus, but really feel that its important to share ancillary information
  • Wanderers are not avoiding conversation, they will rather speak at length on important and unimportant topics.

Again, be conscious of both of these tendencies as either will steer you off topic, the methods for dealing with people that deflect however are much different than dealing with people who’s conversation wanders (fodder for a future blog article)

Strategies for moving past deflections

If you’d like to bring an end to the seemingly endless set of deflections your partner, friend, co-worker or client seem to throw at you, you’ll have to confront that individual the next time it happens. This can be difficult as I’ve found most people prefer not to be confrontational – even when the type of confrontation that I speak of is quite benign and can be done with compassion. Let me provide some examples.

Deflection Tactic – Shifting the Questions

Problem – In conversation you ask a person a serious question (perhaps about their desires for the future, goals, their vision), and they respond by asking you a question. One of my favorites was a client that would avoid questions by letting me know how great of a coach I was and she’d ask who my manager was so that she could pay kudos.

Strategy – Let them know you’d be happy to talk about that later. Right now you are interested in them. Ask the question again.

Deflection Tactic – Changing the Topic

Problem – You are speaking with a friend, co-worker, client etc and again you’ve got some important questions to ask. You’ve been trying to get a response on this topic for a while. When you ask, the response is a complete shift of topic with a light hearted overtone. Again a personal favorite of mine was a client that deflected to talking about the Minnesota Vikings no matter what the conversation we were having was related to.

Strategy – Confront them on what they are doing. What do you notice happens to our conversation each time that I bring up x,y,z? When given a question that confronts them on the act of what they are doing, it becomes very difficult to do more of the same (ie: my buddy above would have a tough time to ping me on whether I saw the Vikings game or not after asking that question!)

Deflection Tactic – The Joker

Problem – Each time you bring up an important topic ‘The Joker’ has a whitty simple and light hearted deflective joke as a response. They’ve often got a smile and make others smile around them – so they are a bit tougher to confront.

Stragety – Appeal to their kindness and refocus. One might say – that’s funny. I really appreciate your good nature and humor. Now if you don’t mind, this topic is really important to look at – talk to me about x,y,z.

Deflection Tactic – Excuses

Problem – You’ve tried to have a serious discussion with someone about a topic and every time you bring them up, rather than getting to the heart of the matter the deflector throws out excuses, they tell you their life story and they avoid what is important for you to discuss by saying we’ll get to that later.

Strategy – Listen, acknowledge and re-ask. The person that is avoiding a conversation by throwing out a number of excuses is overwhelmed and their priorities are not the same as yours. Typically they would be willing to have this conversation its just difficult for them to deal with what you are speaking about at this moment. They are letting you know indirectly that they need to be heard. They need support as well, so perhaps you can offer that support. Give them some space, let them vent, let them know you understand that things are difficult. Once you’ve allowed them to clear their thoughts, they may be willing to discuss the topic you are interested in discussing.

Sperm Taste – 10 Simple Tips For Better Tasting Semen

Sperm taste is affected by what you eat, as are all secretions from the body.

It is a fact that your sperms taste can be improved and making your semen taste better, can be done with a few simple diet changes.

Diet has A major influence on sperm taste as it’s a secretion from the body like any other.

Just as your sweat can smell strongly after eating a heavily spiced meal your sperm will also reflect the spices in its taste.

The make up of sperm

Semen is made up of ninety percent (90%) seminal fluids including fructose (sugar) protein, and various trace minerals and nutrients.

The PH of semen is 7 and scientifically neutral, yet it tastes slightly acidic. Let’s take a look at the actual ingredients of semen.

A man’s ejaculate is actually only 1% sperm.

The rest is composed of various proteins, vitamins, sugars, salts, cholesterol, and water. All the extras are what protect, feeds, fuels the sperm in its journey.

As you can see in terms of semen’s composition, it’s fairly obvious that what you eat will make it taste better or worse!

Getting a sweeter taste

With sperm taste, the aim is to make it taste sweeter.

All men have a semen taste that is exclusive to them, but the major complaint on sperm taste is normally always the same:

It tastes bitter or salty; let’s look at how to make semen taste sweeter

10 Tips for better semen taste

Here then are 10 simple do’s and don’ts to improve the taste of your sperm and make your semen taste better and sweeter:

1. Cut out alcohol, caffeine, recreational drugs and nicotine- they’re all pollutants.

2. Drink lots of water 1 – 2 liters a day to flush out body toxins.

3. Fruit get plenty each day and sweeten your sperm taste

Pineapple, papaya cranberry, melons, mangos, apples grapes are all good choices. These fruits are high in natural sugars and offset the bitter taste.

4. Eat plenty of vegetables which are generally good for improving sperm taste.

5. While it is true vegetarians generally have better tasting sperm there are vegetables to avoid:

Any vegetables from the cabbage family big offenders also include Cauliflower, broccoli, or asparagus:

5. Cut red meat consumption this is one pf the main offenders when it comes to making sperm taste salty. Dairy produce such as milk and cheese also make sperm taste salty.

Make sure when you eat protein you get good quality lean protein such as chicken and turkey.

Fish is claimed by some to be an offender in terms of taste, but this seems to vary between individuals. Try it and see the affects before cutting it out, fish is a major part of a healthy diet, so don’t cut it out!

6. Avoid heavy spices such as Garlic and onions, they’re big offenders when it comes to sperm taste, as they have a high sulfur content.

7. Do not buy products that claim to make your semen taste better there is no evidence that they work.

Your semen can be made to taste better by overall changes in diet and lifestyle, it’s a complex formula and a good healthy diet has the biggest affect.

8. Parsley, wheatgrass, and celery are particularly recommended for sweeter semen taste, because of their high chlorophyll content.

9. Cinnamon, cardamom, peppermint and lemon are particularly recommended for making semen taste sweeter.

10. Avoid junk food, they’re loaded with chemicals and preservatives that pollute your body and your semen’s taste.

Try and eat food “from the earth” i.e. as naturally as possible. Also consider taking a zinc and selenium supplement, both are needed for healthy sperm and can make the taste better.

Finally, strong smelling semen may indicate an infection, so if your semen taste doesn’t change when you change your diet, you should consider a visit to the doctor.

Ways for Men Over 60 to Deal with Erectile Dysfunction

As a man gets older the ability to get and to maintain an erection can be harder. Some men find it just takes a bit more foreplay. They may also find they can’t get a second erection soon after like they once could. This is normal and most couples find it to be an issue they can easily deal with. They are still able to have a very satisfying sex life in spite of such minor issues.

However, some males end up with what is know as erectile dysfunction. This can become a serious issue that affects the individual both mentally and physically. At first they may only have the problem once in a while. It can be embarrassing but couples can deal with it. The partner needs to be very encouraging and supportive so it won’t become a mental issue the next time sex is initiated.

For other men though erectile dysfunction can end up being a very serious problem. It can result in them becoming angry or upset. It can also lead to depression as many men do associate their manhood with their ability to have sexual intercourse. There are many reasons why a man may suffer from erectile dysfunction when they are 60 or older.

Medical concerns are the number one factor. Heart disease, high blood pressure, and even diabetes can all cause erectile dysfunction. Seeing a professional about what is going on is very important. They can help prescribe medications that can help with the issue. Sometimes it turns out to be the medications that you are on that make it hard to get an erection. The doctor can help to determine the cause and get the person back on track.

Mentally a man can prevent himself from being able to get an erection. Issues about not being able to in the past can certainly cause a great deal of anxiety. Not feeling attractive or worrying about being able to perform can also be a problem. Talking to your partner about your fears can help to alleviate them.

Changing lifestyle habits can really make a difference too. Some men over 60 aren’t able to get an erection due to heavily smoking or drinking. Working to get rid of these habits can help the issue of erectile dysfunction to take care of itself. Likewise, changing your diet and losing weight can be helpful as well.

There are several reasons why males over 60 years of age may be experiencing erectile dysfunction. Yet it doesn’t have to mean the very end of your sexual lifestyle. There are ways to deal with it that can get you back on track again. Be willing to try different things in order to get to the bottom of your problem.

One of the most frustrating things for men with erectile dysfunction is that it can take time to discover what is going to make a difference. You have to be willing to follow the doctor’s orders. You have to be open to trying a course of action for a couple of months and then exploring another one if that one wasn’t effective for you.

Sex for men over 60 is still very important and it can be very fulfilling. Don’t be afraid to look at your lifestyle to see where you can make changes. Go to a doctor you can trust and you are comfortable with. This way you can share your feelings and discover what your options are for effectively dealing with erectile dysfunction.

Some of the different treatments that a doctor can offer include various medications. With advances in technology there are also implants that are surgically placed inside of the penis. Counseling can be very effective when the doctor feels there may be a mental link to the erectile dysfunction. Exploring the various options can help you to be able to get and maintain an erection again like you did when you were younger.
